important instructions for all injectable treatments:
Achy pain is normal post treatment, but if you’re experiencing pain considerably worse than you expected, please contact us as soon as possible for review.
You must contact your practitioner if you experience any signs or symptoms of infection after treatment. Infection can present as hot, red shiny skin, there may be pus formation and you may have a fever or feel generally unwell.
You must seek emergency medical attention if you experience any severe allergy symptoms after treatment. Symptoms may include rash, facial swelling and breathing difficulties.
aftercare for all injectable treatments:
Manage pain with paracetamol. Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen as these are blood thinners, which could cause extra bruising
Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 12 - 24 hours. When cleansing the treated areas, use simple skincare and avoid applying too much pressure for a few days
Avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for 12 - 24 hours
Avoid exercising, swimming, saunas/ steam rooms for the first 24-48 hours post-treatment
Avoid prolonged sun exposure/ tanning beds for at least two weeks
No excessive alcohol after treatment
Remain upright for 4 hours after treatment
Avoid any further cosmetic / dental procedures to the treated area for 2 weeks following treatment, including skin treatments, e.g. facials
aftercare for botox specific treatments:
After Botox injections it is normal to have small welts or bumps at the injection site. Please do not touch or manipulate. Moving your facial muscles through expressions will help the product to absorb and disperse faster
Although some people react quicker to certain neurotoxins the full effect of your treatment will take 14 days
All patients are invited back after 2 weeks from their initial botox injections. At the 2 week botox review appointment we ask how the treatment has been, any side effects such as headaches or bruising
We then carry out a visual assessment to review your results, check for asymmetry or any ineffectiveness
Some patients may require further top ups of botox at this 2nd appointment, but most patients do not
Botox shouldn't be carried out within 12 weeks of last treatment as this contributes to overuse, ineffective results and botox resistance
aftercare for dermal filler:
Swelling and redness are completely normal. Please bear in mind, dermal filler needs to be left at least two weeks for swelling to settle and see final results. Lips and tear trough are particularly liable to swelling. Use clean ice packs and/ or anti-histamines to help with swelling
Achy pain is normal post treatment, but if you’re experiencing pain considerably worse than you expected, please contact us as soon as possible for review
Staying hydrated is crucial after your dermal filler appointment. Our dermal filler treatments use hyaluronic acid based fillers, which absorb fluid, so drinking water contributes to a more effective result and prevents you becoming slightly dehydrated. Drinking a lot of water also helps your body heal after dermal filler injections, which enables you to see results sooner
You mustn't sleep on your face for the first day or so after getting dermal fillers. Putting pressure on your face can worsen swelling and bruising after your appointment
And like all other injectables, avoid sun exposure/ tanning beds for at least 48 hours, but this is extended to two weeks if sun exposure is expected to be prolonged. You should never schedule your filler appointment within two weeks of going on holiday
